The Arc-TV All-Abilities Channel continues to shine a spotlight on inclusion, creativity, and personal expression through film. Produced and filmed entirely in our state-of-the-art studio at the People’s Performing Arts Center in Northport, each ArcTV episode gives participants the opportunity to explore the magic of cinema while building skills in performance, production, and storytelling.
For Episode 3, our students stepped into the world of silent film legend Charlie Chaplin. Known for his iconic character “City Lights,” Chaplin revolutionized early cinema with a blend of humor, heart, and social commentary that still resonates today. Participants dove into his most memorable films—learning about the art of physical comedy, expressive acting, and visual storytelling.
After exploring Chaplin’s life and legacy, students participated in on-camera interviews to reflect on what they learned. These candid conversations offered thoughtful and often humorous takes on Chaplin’s unique style and impact. The process deepened their understanding of how storytelling can connect people across generations—without even saying a word.
Inspired by Chaplin’s work, the group then collaborated to create a skit that paid tribute to his silent film era. From costume and prop selection to choreography and camera work, participants embraced the challenge of telling a story through movement, expression, and comedic timing—just as Chaplin did over a century ago.
