We are happy to share that our Bohemia office and programs are moving to new updated spaces across Suffolk County. We are in the process of acquiring these new spaces and look forward to sharing updates as we progress with this transition.

To help everyone prepare, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions for people supported, staff, families, and our community partners.

FAQ

Why are we moving?

We are moving to create a better everyday experience for the people we support, our staff, and our broader community. The new buildings offer better access to community resources, more opportunities for inclusion and engagement, and improved amenities that better support our programs, services, and daily work. These spaces will help us live our mission more fully: creating communities where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy life to its fullest.

Where are the new Day Hab, Employment Services, and PWW sites?
The Bohemia Day Hab programs and PWW are moving into new community-based sites in vibrant neighborhoods. Updates will be made available as soon as these locations are secured.

When is the move happening?
The transition is scheduled to begin in the coming months; we will provide specific dates for individual programs and departments as they are confirmed.

What about the existing program sites?
We will be reviewing all of our locations and will identify opportunities for continued growth and improvement. Educare is not moving to a new site. We look forward to continuing to hold meetings and events at Educare. Our main goal is to make sure every program and all people have exactly what they need to succeed.

Where should I send mail or deliveries?
Please continue to use the 2900 Veterans Memorial Hwy address until further instructed.

Will my daily schedule change?
For most people, the core hours of program participation will remain the same. Your Assistant Manager will discuss any specific timing adjustments with you directly, as they are made available.

Will I still be with the same staff and friends?
We are focused on maintaining the wonderful relationships that we have. Though there will be some changes and moves, we will still have many fun agency events, meet ups, and dances where we can see all of our friends and staff.

Why are we moving into smaller PWW groups?
Moving into the community allows for more personal connection and better opportunities for the people we support to be involved in their local neighborhoods.

Where are the new locations?
We have identified the new locations! However, we are still finalizing the details and paperwork. We cannot give out specific addresses or names quite yet, but we will share that information with you the moment it is officially confirmed.

Are the new buildings accessible?
Absolutely! Each new site is designed so that all people can navigate the space safely and comfortably.

How will transportation be affected?
We are working closely with our transportation providers to update routes. If your family member receives agency-provided transportation, you will receive a separate notice regarding updated pick-up and drop-off times.

Who should I contact if I have questions during the move?
You can continue to reach out to your primary program’s Assistant Manager via their current phone numbers and email addresses. Our contact information will remain the same throughout the transition.

Will there be any interruption in services or programs?
We have planned the move in phases to ensure a smooth transition. Please note that some administrative response times may be slightly longer during the physical move.
