Community Habilitation

At People’s Arc, our Community Habilitation (Com Hab) program is designed to support people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in building the skills and confidence needed to live more independently — both at home and in the community.

Services are provided in a person’s own home or family’s home by our dedicated staff working one-on-one to help each person reach their personal life goals. From learning daily living skills to navigating social settings or participating in community activities such as going to the gym, the movies or religious services. Com Hab promotes choice, growth, and meaningful connection.

Com Hab – R

Com Hab–R provides personalized services to people in either a one to one or small group setting to people who live in certified residential settings such as an IRA or Family Care.  People who receive services through Com Hab – R are either 65 years of age or older and would like to retire from their day program or having complex medical or behavioral needs that make it difficult to attend a traditional day program.

Support focuses on daily living skills, social engagement, personal goal-setting, and community inclusion. Services are delivered by trained, compassionate staff who work closely with each person to ensure their choices, needs, and strengths are at the center of everything we do.
