The Spring 2025 Showcase at the Performing Arts Center

In October of 2024, People’s Arc of Suffolk proudly opened the doors to its innovative Performing Arts Center in Northport, NY. This program was designed with a singular vision: to use the performing arts as a platform for creativity, connection, and personal growth for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

On May 30, 2025, the center will host its first Spring Showcase from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This event will feature a student production of the musical Oliver!, put on by performers with intellectual and developmental disabilities as part of People’s Arc of Suffolk’s theatre program. It’s a chance for the community to come together and see the hard work and talent of our people.

The event will also include an art exhibition called ArtAbility, featuring works by differently abled artists from the Spirit of Huntington Art Center. Each week, students study different artists and create their own works inspired by what they’ve learned. Our artists’ display will be part of a touring art show that travels across the tri-state area. These pieces highlight each artist’s unique point of view and the transformative power of art.

In addition, the premiere of ArcTV will take place. This new podcastTV was created by a team of differently abled individuals from both People’s Arc of Suffolk and the Spirit of Huntington Art Center. ArcTV features interviews and short films inspired by the directors studied in the moviemaking class.
