People’s Arc of Suffolk Hosts 2025 Annual Fashion Show

Walking the Runway to Support Programs Empowering Long Islanders with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Bohemia, NY (Nov 12, 2025) – People’s Arc of Suffolk, which provides programs and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Long Island, hosted its Annual Meeting & Fashion Show here tonight, starring two dozen Long Islanders who strutted the red carpeted runway in a display of confidence and self-esteem they have developed at People’s Arc programs.

Every model, which included members from elementary school to retirement age, was a participant from People’s Arc of Suffolk residential, day and education programs. They each chose their own outfit and expressive dance as they wowed the cheering crowd of family and friends.

“This creates such wonderful self-esteem and shows them that they’re regular people, just like all of us,” said Denise Giordano, VP Day Programs, People’s Arc of Suffolk, who helped to organize the event. “They want to strut their stuff. They want to be proud of themselves.”

The event also included a raffle and door prizes and raised more than $5,000 for People’s Arc of Suffolk programs.

This was the 20th year the fashion show has been put on by People’s Arc of Suffolk.
